Steel Plates

Shipbuilding, Railway & Wagon Plates

Ships and rolling stock are plate structures that spend their lives being flexed, loaded and corroded — so their plate is graded and certified accordingly. Shipbuilding plate carries classification-society approval; railway and wagon plate meets the rail operators’ own weldability and wear specifications.

Range

  • Ship plate in A/B/D/E and higher-strength AH32–EH36 grades with class certification
  • Railway and wagon plate for underframes, bodies and hoppers, including wear-resistant floor grades
  • Thicknesses from hull bottom shell up to heavy inserts, cut to nesting sizes

Applications

Hull shell, decks and bulkheads in new construction and ship repair, barge building, railway wagon underframes and bodies, tipper and hopper linings, and container manufacturing.
